The "Beyond the Flags" Bursary is a Surfers Paradise SLSC (Club) bursary that is in place for members who require financial assistance whilst a member of the Club or in transitioning from Surf Life Saving to business.

The successful recipient(s) will receive a bursary to assist them to continue their voluntary service whilst undertaking an apprenticeship, Certification courses or a Tertiary Course. This bursary is designed to recognise our members who have provided outstanding competition results, lifesaving efforts and contributions.

It will allow them to continue providing this outstanding service as well as helping to provide them witha pathway into a vocation that can co-exist with that contribution.

The “Joy Collins Scholarship” is to be an annual Surfers Paradise SLSC (Club) award that is announced at the Surfers Paradise SLSC Annual Dinner.

The successful recipient(s) will receive a scholarship to assist them to continue their voluntary service whilst undertaking an Apprenticeship or a Tertiary Course.

This scholarship is designed to recognise our members aged between 16 and 25 years (inclusive) who have provided outstanding lifesaving efforts and contributions, and to provide them with an opportunity to grow and develop their life saving knowledge and skills whilst undertaking study as an Apprentice or at a Tertiary Institution.
