Our Athletes
Surfers Paradise has broken many records in the world of surf sports, including 14 consecutive World Ironman titles and being the first club to ever win both the World Ironman and World Ironwoman Championships.
Our Club prides itself on the ability, dedication and professionalism of its athletes. We offer a comprehensive training program for competitors of all levels, supporting those who wish to develop their skills, represent the Club, and compete at the highest level of the sport.
A standout example of this legacy is Ali Day, one of the most decorated endurance athletes in surf lifesaving history. A 11-time Coolangatta Gold champion, Ali is widely regarded as one of the greatest Ironmen of all time.
Beyond his extraordinary results, Ali is known throughout the Club and the wider surf lifesaving community as a true everyday hero. He consistently leads by example — respected not only for his work ethic and professionalism, but for his humility, integrity and genuine care for others. Above all, Ali is recognised as an exceptional human, embodying the values that Surfers Paradise Surf Life Saving Club stands for both on and off the beach.
From emerging juniors through to world-class champions, our athletes continue to uphold a proud tradition of excellence, representing Surfers Paradise on the national and international stage.
